There is a way... This java script causes the page to refresh every (default) 1 minute
thus the chat box would auto refresh as well as the entire page

you can set it for shorter intervals though i wouldnt recommend it or longer ones

Help on ideas on what to do to make a forum sucessful

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to attract people to your forum? You see my forum first started off with the sole purpose of making fan comic books, but it soon evolved into a proper forum. Recently a few members have disappeared and the pressence has been unlacking. So what I want to know from y'all if you could answer the following questions for me:

1. On the forums you post on do you perfer more order and organization, or more of a free relaxying, laid back place?

2.Do you post on forums that have sites with lots of info on series?

3. Any other comments that you'd like to add about what attracts you to posting on certain forums.

Thanks in advance, it'll really help me a lot!

do you want to change the B in your URL with your own picture?

step 1: create your icon

hint:choose a simple image because the image has to be 16x16 pixels

first make it a gif with an invissy background (if needed) then change the extentions from .gif to .ico

step 2: upload it

go here or a place of your choice upload it and get the img src url

step 3 put it in your template

in the head put this code

I've been involved in a public speaking competition and it's been taking up a lot of my time. I've done it every year but I haven't actually ever won anything. This year, I won at my school, I won at the Legion in my town, I won at the area competition, and next it region (I think)! I'm really excited, this is something I like doing and I'm finally going somewhere with it. I if I win in the next round I go to the provincial level (which is in Toronto), then it's national (in Vancouver) and after that World (IN HAWAII!!!)! I won't get my hopes to high up-- 'cause there’s obviously a pretty good chance I'll loose-- but I'm still happy!

Anyway, that's my explanation. I'll be back to posting soon!

here is a little trick...

go to settings, formatting and say yes to show link field

now open your template (a little trick when working on templates, use firefox open the template in tab and again in another tab, use IE open template in window and again in another window... now you have 2 x the template, template A is your original in case you make a mistake just save the original and start over... )

now find

So now when you post you have a link bar just add the person you are working the crossover with ie

<a href="url">JohnDOE</a>

if you add nothing then the message about the cross over doesnt show if you add a link it shows

then it will look like this just look at the post footer where your comment link is
