From a long time ago, all the way to the 24th century- spread out to galaxies far, far away and even planets closer to home. From the cities of Earth, like New York City and West City, to the great cities of Coruscant and Neptonian. Here, the men, women, mutants, aliens, elves, hobbits and those other odd creatures of the bloggersphere boldly go where no blogger has gone before. For one may not always be a hero, but one can always blog...

The Amazing Mutant Race

Okay people, I am starting a new adventure on my blog. It's an Amazing Race spoof. I thought about doing something along the lines of Captain Picard's Christmas party, but that seemed like far too much work. So I plan to just use your characters in my story. If anybody doesn't want to be included, let me know. If you do want to be included, let me know and I will make sure to work you in. If you'd like to pick up your story lines in posts on your own blogs, that would be great. I figure the race will actually start Thursday.

The lady reveals herself

Its funny (well, not really) I play one of the oldest characters -even if she doesn't act old- and I think I'm the youngest here.

My name is Carli, I'm 15 and I live in Ontario in Canada.

Why did I start a blog like this?

I saw James's (Prf. Xavier) blog and really liked it. I too posted for a while as someone else-Gaia (duh) and when Nabeel started a blog I thought I should too. Its fun and gives me something to do in my spare time. This will sound kinda corny, but when I'm stressed it helps me escape to my own little world.

Why did I choose Gaia?

Well, when I was reading James's blog I did plan to make a blog sometime. I wanted to choose a really good character and I was looking through all of them on mutanthigh.com and I came across Gaia. She had reality warping abilities, but not much else was known about her. She was a character I could play with and design myself.

If you post often, where do you get your ideas?

A lot of it is just stuff that pops into my mind, but often I go on what some of the other X-Men characters are writing about, like the Shadow King thing.

Where do I find pictures to post?

Google. I don't have photo bucket or anything. Maybe I should get it...

Well, that's it. Its short, but its me.

Movies

Well, Xavier asked me where my movies were. My movies are on cardboredknight.blogspot.com! Duh! No, I am kidding about "duh". ANYWHO! I have lots of movies that are funny ha ha. The last eight don't have anything to do with me in a cardboard knight suit, so beware! I have to make a new suit. Read more on my blog.

They Call me Wilson, Wade Wilson

Howdy everyone, I'm you're friendly neighborhood mercenary with a mouth, Deadpool. Thought I'd strut my stuff since everyone else is.

In truth my name is Nabeel. I'm a comic fan yeah. And I thought that starting a fake blog might be a little more interesting than really seeing whats going on in my depressingly boring life. I'm an Ameri-can do of Pakistani descent. Want more I might tell you if you bribe me. <_<

Why did I start a blog like this?

Well I saw Professor Xavier post about his blog at uncannyxmen.net and lurked around for awhile. After a bit, I decided to post as Deadpool. I thought it was an interesting idea to have fictional character's blogs. So I decided to start my own at somepoint, thought it'd be fun. Plus it helps me plug my favorite sites and my own discussion forum(shameless plug http://fancomics.3.forumer.com/index.php?act=idx). Which everyone should check out :D.

Why did I chose Deadpool?

Cause he's cool. More depth you ask? I love Deadpool, tied with Booster Gold and Jamie Madrox as my favorite superhero. I only discovered the character a year ago when I got back into comics, and have been getting any comic with him in it. He's just so out there. I can post the most outrageous things being him. Plus I get to break the 4th wall when I post as him.

If you post often, where do you get your ideas?

Mostly from comics news and current news. Or whatever's going on in my life. I honestly should post more, but a lot of the time don't or think of something then before I post it think its not so good so I hesitate. Also try to take some of DP's personality from the comics. Where he does mention his love of Bea Arthur, tacos, and his hatred of Agent X.

Where do I find pictures to post?

I usually search on yahoo, but I don't post much. Last few times I tried I got an error on my blog. Though I wish I had photoshop so I could make DP fighting the govenor of a certain Golden State(hint to future blog post).

P.S. should add that I have a "Cable" post at my site. Which in truth is not one person, its been about three(including myself). But unfortunately my compadres realized they didn't know too much comic stuff and didn't want to post anymore.

Now comment!

Professor Xavier Unleashed

Hi, my name is Charles Francis Xavier and I run an exclusive school for very gifted students in Westchest- - what's that sound?! What's happening here? The fourth wall, it's - it's crumbling before my eyes! No!! The wall it's . . it's . . gone.

Okay, here goes. My name is James. Apparently there are a few other bloggers named James. Coincidence? Apparently it's the most common name on the planet or something like that. I do live in New York but a couple of counties over from Westchester. I'm on the East End of Long Island. If anybody's ever going to be in the neighborhood, please let me know and I'll be happy to try and get together.

Why did I start a blog like this, you ask?

My wife bugs me regularly to do something creative. You see, I'm a computer game junky. I don't have a gaming system because I'm usually watching TV while I play on the computer. At the moment I'm rotating between Sims 2, Tradewinds 2 and Stronghold. I'm about to get Age of Empires 3 and plan to be severely addicted for quite awhile. But, none the less, to keep peace in the house, I do try make myself do other things from time to time. The misses isn't much of a genre fan, but she says she's glad I'm doing something creative. I guess she hasn't read my blog. I do enjoy it though.

Why did I chose Professor Xavier, you ask?

The first blog I started reading was Master Yoda's. The second was Captain Picard's. When I finally decided to do my own a few months ago, I figured ideas and story lines would come more easily if I had a large cast to play with. I've been a super-hero fan, particular Marvel, since I was a little kid. I'm 37 now and still love them. I figured what with the movies and games and toys, the X-Men would give me a lot of fodder. Why Xavier instead of another character? I didn't really think about it. Just seemed the natural choice somehow. I suppose because I was inspired by Yoda and Picard who were taking on the long-suffering babysitter role.

If you post often, where do you get your ideas, you ask?

I find the whole process is pretty organic. Throughout my day when I have some spare time I'll just let my mind wander about where to go next. If I'm doing a multi-part story line, the plot usually flows. I've also enjoyed picking up threads others have started, such as the current dimensional hopping thing or the recent Enterprise Christmas party. I had been planning to have Xavier just go back to the mansion with a hangover after Picard's party, but then I thought maybe he should have some ordeal getting home. Why make it easy for him? Then I wondered what problem I could introduce that was Star Trek related. I love Trek, by the way. Then I thought about a transporter accident. A fairly common Trek plot device. Then I thought about some of my favorite Trek episodes, Mirror Mirror and the last episodes of Enterprise. After leaving the Mirror Universe, I was going to have Xavier come home but then on Phoenix's blog, she jumped in to rescue my character. I hadn't planned that but I went with it. The improv aspect is fun.

Where do I find pictures to post, you ask?

Usually on the Yahoo or Google database. There are also a lot of Marvel comics fan pages with some great art. I have alot of bookmarks. Photoshop is a great tool for manipulating images. Master Yoda has actually sent me two pictures which I have used. If anybody sends me a picture, I will incorporate it.

I just want to say that I'm really enjoying this whole blogging thing and I enjoy reading everybody elses stuff too. This is a pretty cool community and I'm glad to be a part of it.

The Coughinator

[This is from Star Wars United]

Hi, I'm Johnathan, 16, and also from New Zealand.

How did i start my blog?

Well I'm friends with Chris and Nick (who write Dooku's and Jar Jar's blogs) Well as Nick said Chris started his then Nick did and i kind of tagged along and created Grievous's blog

Why Grievous?

Well i like lightsabers (well who doesn't) and lightsaber battles so Grievous seemed like an obvious character to blog (as well as that (from what i know) i can make alot of stuff up and don't have too much to adhere to)

Where do i get my ideas from?

Ahh... no where (i suppose this is evident) i just thought that Grievous should:
A) cough alot
B) hate droids despite being part droid himself
well thats about it i just based my ideas from that, although there will be new themes coming soon ;)

Other:

Well i haven't be blogging recently as we (Chris, Nick and me) have had exams and i was revising for them (Chris and Nick don't study as much as me) but now i'm back with more ideas than ever

The Other Vegeta

Here's the Bio of the other man who channels the Prince of all Saiyans

Barry 27 Alabama

What made you start a blog like this?
I'm Like Bill and James I was inspired by the Hulk's blog.I thought Blogging would be fun.

If you post often, where do you get your ideas?
Hmm A lot of posts have come from Vegeta intereacting with Marve and characters One week I'll have him falling asleep while taking to Superman the next he's putting Wolverine in a dress after beating him. Some of my real life has leaked in like an argument over a parking space I saw. I just embellished it alot.

Why did you choose your particular character
Because It seems so easy for Goku. In Vegeta you have a guy who never gives up trying to match a guy who just gets stronger at the drop of a hat. And Vegeta has to work hard just to stay even.
Where do you find pictures for use on your blog
Mostly Google or Comics I have laying around the house my bad Very bad Microsoft paint skills . The Pepesi King and Centaur were e-mailed to me . I have no Idea were the guy in the Goku costume pic came from though.

An Intergalactic Whatinator?

OK, here's my intro.

My name is Jon, I'm a Gemini, I like long walks on the beach and the color blue.

34/M/Chicago, IL, USA

What made you start a blog like this?
For a long time, I've joked with my friends that being an intergalactic gladiator was my dream job. I thought about creating a blog about it for a while, but I just never did until I stumbled across Billoda's blog. After a hearty chuckle, I started working on one of my own.

Why did you choose your particular character?
I am me. That is, I am me as an Intergalactic Gladiator. I throw in some real life stuff, then I fight a space vampire or something. Though in real real life, I think I am a little less macho and a little more funny...

If you post often, where do you get your ideas?
All over. Obviously, I throw in some funny stuff from my real life. Other than that, I want to go anywhere that suits my desire to tell a story. As an "Intergalactic Gladiator" I cross over frequently into other universes with little explanation. I don't want to sit and explain why I am singing at the Jedi Temple right after I visited the Enterprise, I just want to do it.

Interestingly enough, I really don't post about being a gladiator that much. I have established the Fire Islands of Planet Hacknor and the Intergalactic Gladiator Entertainment (formerly Intergalactic Gladiator Federation), but writing about being in a gladiator arena isn't that interesting to me unless I'm using it to further a storyline.

Where do you find pictures for use on your blog?
Google. If I had Photoshop skills, I'd be dangerous. I do most of my photomanipulation with MS paint.

Any other tips?
I've recently discovered the beauty of the multi-part story. I can drag a lame premise about being hunted by a vampire on and on and on. I do, however, still like the quick one-post post. I alternate between the two.

Also, I like having another character on my blog as well. First I had Jo Jo the Monkeyboy, an unfunny comedy relief sidekick. His whole point of existence was to be as annoying as possible and then die. I now have Private Hudson, who I am really beginning to enjoy writing. He's basically a coward and a misogynist. All the things I am not. Yeah.

Also also, if I could offer one piece of advice to any blogger, it would be this: be the best writer you can. Proofread your work, then when you publish it, read it again. Find alternatives to common words like "said," "happy" and "mad." I know I'm not perfect and I don't want to tell anyone how he or she should write, but writers should always write with the audience in mind and whatever.

Also also also, one other thing. Don't be a sellout. It's not about the money, it's about the music. Yoda, I'm looking at you.

Introductions and Such ( and a Yoda bio)

Over on Star Wars Unplugged, we all post "out-of-character" as ourselves. In this way, we've been able to coordinate on different projects and build a little community. I would suggest the same for this site. But that is up to everyone here. I suggest posting your opinion in the comments to this post on whether we should post in character or as ourselves.

Another thing we all did over on Star Wars Unplugged, was to write an introductory post about ourselves, like the one below. It's a great way to get to know everyone as well as get an idea where we all come from.

If you're interested, here's my info. If not, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain:

What made you start a blog like this?
It was my wife's idea. We both are fans of the Incredible Hulk's Blog. (If you haven't checked it out, you should. It's really funny.) One day after reading it, she said that I should do something like that, but with Yoda. It sounded like a funny idea to me, so I gave it a shot.
DarthSide pre-dated my blog, but I wasn't aware of its existence until sometime after I had begun mine.

Why did you choose your particular character?
See above.

If you post often, where do you get ideas?
Do you have a flashlight? I'll show you.
But seriously, I post everyday in order to maintain my traffic. To be honest, I would like to use the popularity of my blog to do other things, so traffic is important to me for now.
I think you have to really define your characters, including your "supporting cast" very well. Give them detailed personalities. That way, when you're trying to think of what to write, you can just close your eyes and imagine your characters interacting with each other. Then a story will come to mind.
I also check my email to see if anyone has emailed me some picture they've manipulated. That makes it really easy. I can always come up with some story around it.
I've begun checking the news before I do each post as well, since I would like to start including current events more in my posts. Unfortunately, most news lately doesn't really lend itself to humor.
Still, it's not always easy! Several times, I've been up at 2am in a Migraine-induced fog (the only time I get to write most days is late at night), trying to think of something. I think that explains all the fart jokes.

Where do you find pictures for use on your blog?
Sometimes someone will email me a picture. Otherwise, I just do a Google or Yahoo search, then Photoshop it. Whenever I use a pic manipulated by someone other than myself, I will always credit that person with a link in the post.
